ComScore Releases Online Credit Card Usage Report for December 2010
ComScore, Inc., a leading reporter on world-wide digital usage, recently released its annual online credit card report. This report provides a comprehensive look at online credit card use in the U.S. for 2010.
The exhaustively researched report, conducted in December of last year, tracks a number of interesting trends. Among these are the increase in online credit card shopping among those who reported a more positive view of America’s current economic state, and the increased use of mobile devices and mobile sites to access credit card account information.
While there may not be a whole heap of folks who are optimistic about our economy right now, any increase in online commerce is better than none. And, as usually happens with this sort of trend, what starts slowly will likely grow very, very quickly. I don’t remember the exact figure, but the overall increase in online shopping last year was a ridiculous amount. While there are a number of ways to make payments online (debit cards, PayPal, direct withdrawals from bank accounts, etc.), it’s only a matter of time until credit card payments account for a much bigger piece of the pie. Now is the perfect time to add a reliable credit card payment processing system to your e-commerce website, if you don’t already have one. Our team of experts here at Ecreativeworks can help you with that process, should you need it.
The increase in mobile device and mobile site usage is not terribly surprising, as smart phones are now capable of pretty much everything but watering the plants and feeding the dog. But, it does reinforce the importance of having an alternate version of your business’ site specifically for mobile users. Mobile device-friendly sites are becoming more the rule than the exception, so be sure you have a great “m.” site, in addition to your standard webpage. Ecreativeworks can make that a reality for you, as well.
