Pick the Right SEO Company
If you are an avid reader of our blog you probably have a good feel for what is it that we can do for a company like yours, but what else should you look for in an SEO company. I am going to cover a few points that I would want to consider if I were to think about hiring an outside firm to work on my industrial website. The following will not necessarily be in order, everyone has different priorities.
- Knowledge: Do they know their stuff? I am not talking about how much they say they know, get some references and talk to them about how much search engine marketing knowledge they have been given during the time they have worked with them.
- Reporting: What do their reports look like, are they well rounded and packed with valuable information? Make sure that you do your homework and know that there is more to internet marketing than keyword rankings. The report you get should include detailed analytics data showing how your website is doing for traffic not just rankings.
- Meetings: Do you get to meet with them on a regular basis? This can be monthly, quarterly, etc, what ever you are comfortable with. But you should be able to have a decent meeting to talk about how your site is performing and what they will be working on in the time period to make it better.
- Responsive: Do they respond to questions or concerns in a timely manner? I personally believe that you should receive a response to any question the same day or next day at the very latest. Even if they don’t have a solution or answer, you should get a response letting you know they are working on it.
- Portfolio: Any company should be able to give you references, or have a portfolio on their website that shows you work they have done in the past. Don’t be afraid to call those companies, they of course are going to give the most honest opinions. The company you are looking at should not be afraid of you talking with any of their past clients.
- Translating: Can they effectively translate their “geeky, techie” talk into language that you can understand. In my opinion this is one of the most important points to look for. You want to be able to understand what it is that you are paying for as well as the changes that you are approving on a monthly basis.
Of course I am going to be a little biased as to whom I would recommend (this is our ecreativeworks blog after all). But in trying to be my “unbiased” self, please try to follow the above when searching for an SEO company to work with. If you click the link above, there will be an even larger list of what to look for in an SEO company along with some reasons why you should create a partnership with an outside SEO firm.
