“I Want to Be Number One on Google This Week.”

SEO is becoming a more and more popular and important part of business, but that doesn’t mean that everyone involved actually understands it. Many companies rush out to procure the services of an SEO firm, but don’t really know what they want the SEO firm to do. It’s easy for business owners to say “I want to be Number One on Google this week,” and expect the SEO team to just make it happen. Good SEO is, of course, more of a two-way street, with equal give and take from both sides combining to create the best SEO strategy for the company in question. Luckily for us SEO types, more companies are aware of this right off the bat than before, so it’s much easier to build an effective plan of attack.

But, there will always be the ridiculously uninformed business owner or entrepreneur who thinks it really is as simple as “being Number One on Google.” The video linked below is from an SEO company in Australia*, and, as far as the uninformed buffoon type of SEO client is concerned, they hit the nail on the head. With a really, really funny hammer. (It’s also, in and of itself, a good example of how to use sites like YouTube as an effective marketing tool.) Enjoy!**

* As they’re in a different hemisphere, it’s probably safe to say they’re not really our competition, so I don’t feel bad about linking to them.
** The video does contain a bit of blue language (as does the comments section below it), so watch at your own discretion.
