According to Hitwise Intelligence, for the week ending March 13, 2010, Facebook beat Google out of the top position as the most visited website in the United States. Facebook previously beat out Google on Christmas Eve and Day, and New Year’s Day and the weekend of March 6th and 7th.
This doesn’t mean the end of people using Google to find information, products and services, but it does give a very clear signal that social media isn’t going away. It will be interesting to watch how the industrial and B2B markets adapt more social media into their marketing strategies.
