Tell Them Why
Well, we’re almost all cleared out of the office for the big Holiday weekend. Some of us will be dressing up – among the costumes are Pocahontas, Superwoman and a Ghoul. But before we sign off for a weekend of fright and fun, I thought I’d leave you with a quick SEO tip.
If you want people to sign up to receive your email blasts or even fan you on Facebook, tell them why. What I mean is, give them the benefits, loud and clear. Especially with email opt-in’s people are very hesitant to provide their email addresses, for fear of spam. Tell them, explicitly, in bold and even in bullet points, the benefits of signing on to the email list. Whether it’s “immediate updates” “new sales” and “exciting events”, tell them why signing up is important. This simple tweak to your web copy could help increase your email subscriber list, Facebook fan list and other lists of subscribers.
