Knowing what Keywords Work for You!

Go to Google and type in blog. You’re looking at around 2.5 billion pages that potentially correspond to your term. Now search for writing blogs; results have decreased to about 78 million. Finally, google copywriting blogs and your results have dropped to just under 2 million page results. As you can see, it is important to be as specific as possible when using a search engine. You could raise a hullabaloo on the amount of junk out there, or you could search for exactly what you need.

I tried this experiment numerous times with a variety of terms when I first started working on keyword research. Potential clients or customers usually know exactly what they are looking for and will therefore be very specific in their search words. If they have only a general idea, they will input as many words as possible to filter out the rubbish resulting from a broad search term. Keywords are essential in website content, yet choosing the right words is just as important. Having a high number of searching keywords corresponding with a low number of pages is the best term to select. In the industrial web, the people you want on your site will have a pretty good idea of what they are searching for so specific terms are important.

Also, choosing the right people to complete search engine optimization is important in designing your company’s website’s saturation program. There are a lot of scammers out there, willing to take your money without putting forth half the effort required. Here are a quick couple of questions to ask an SEO team before hiring them.

Q: When did you last update your own site?
A: If the answer is more than a few months ago, they are not the right team for you. A strong SEO team will be working on their own site, search engine optimization, or social networking at least, bare minimum, once a month.

Q: Do you have case studies or examples to show me that back up your experience?
A: If not, move on to the next SEO team.

Q: What type of clients do you work with?
A: Working with an SEO team who has worked with other companies similar to your own means they will be more experienced—knowing what works and what doesn’t for your particular market.

So choose keywords wisely and select an SEO team with your best interests in mind. It is essential the words you choose make sense for your industrial market and sound natural when said aloud. The right SEO team will recognize this and help you select the correct keywords. For more information or for help in your next SEO project, contact Ecreativeworks.
