Google at 74% of US Searches for June, Bing Searches Increase
The latest search results are in from Hitwise. Google accounted for 74% of all U.S. searches conducted in the four weeks ending June 27, 2009. Bing grew at average weekly rate of 25% for the month of June 2009. Adding in Live.com and MSN Search along with Bing, the combined search engines have grown at an average of 16 percent during June 2009. Bing grew faster than the three other prominent search engines for the month. See full press release >

Bing has got a stickiness to it that I can’t explain. The results are good as well, with a little less flotsam bubbling to the top of the fold than Google.
At almost 30% market share, SEO’s can’t brush off Bing as unimportant anymore. More people are referencing it.

In search engine referrals for SEO clients, I’ve been amused watching Bing kick past Yahoo in the last months of Summer 2009. So, I’m definitely getting amped about coordinating SEO tactics with Bing’s search engine. Finally, some decent competition out there to keep us SEO-pers on our toes!
