Increase Sales and Visitor Motivation with Video Marketing Pt 2.

Around Christmas time, I talked about how to connect with your visitors and increase sales through video marketing.  Since then, I’ve found some great suggestions on the Search Engine Land website on how to choose what type of video to shoot and wanted to share them with you!

Behind-the-scenes videos

Those of you who have a business blog in place and are an active participant know that people have a LOT to say.  They are also curious about your products and probably ask you plenty of questions in your blog about how things are made, the origins of a given product, who was involved, etc.

You can take advantage of their curiosity and expose them to more information about your products and services with a great ‘behind the scenes’ video!  Interesting tasks, complex or dynamic processes (especially the ones with lots of machinery or flying sparks), or people involved in the day to day process make for great subject matter.

Your goal is to pick a topic that aligns with the subject matter your audience is looking for.  For example, if you offer waterjet cutting as a service, you might want to include a video showing a laser cutting machine in action and the resulting product.  Here’s a humorous business video of a pizza being cut with a water jet cutting machine!

How-to videos

Similar to the behind the scenes business video is the how-to video.  With this type of video, you not only want to catch the attention of people interested in your services, but who also have an immediate need.  A great example of this is a men’s clothing store offering a video showing the many ways to knot a necktie properly.

Many products come with only a sheet of instructions or a booklet to guide the customer through installing and using a product.  How-to videos that help with use and installation of products can be invaluable to your clientele and help them to associate you with great customer service in their minds, making them loyal customers.

Add high quality, relevant videos of your products and services to your website, Google Video and YouTube today!  Your customers will thank you for it!

  • Absolutely! With 14.3 billion videos watched online in December 08, it is definitely something for savvy business owners to keep their eye on and develop their outreach towards.
