Get Higher Rankings in Google using Link Text (Anchor Text) – part two

Last week we discussed how anchor text works and how it can improve your ranking in Google. Today I’ll show ways to increase your link text to your site. There are two ways to increase link text to your website – through internal linking and external linking.

Internal Links
Internal linking is the easiest way to improve your link text because you have complete control it. There are two ways to improve and increase the link in your site. The first thing you should do it evaluate your navigation links. Make sure your most important keywords are in your navigation. The other way to increase link text is through cross linking. Cross linking is when you link to a page within the copy of your page like this – check out this post to learn more about cross linking. Again, make sure to use your keywords in these links.

External Links
Getting other sites to link to you with keywords is the other way to improve your ranking. There are many ways to go about this, however, some of them will take more time and effort. The good thing is, this is a way to get traffic from sources other than the search engines. Here are some ways to get link text credit from outside your site:

1. Write an article about your industrial products or services. You’re the expert! Share your experience and knowledge with others. Next, submit this article. There are many sites that publish articles; some of them allow you to use link text within the copy. A simple Google search turns up hundreds of article submission sites.

2. Write and submit a press release. There are many that allow you to use link text within the content. Again, there are many of these free sites available.

3. Submit your to directories. Many directories will allow you to use keywords when you submit. Use Google to find for industrial directories, or general web directories.

4. Contribute to forums, blogs and other social networking sites. Many of these allow you to use a signature where you can link to your site.

Linking with keywords is a great way to improve your rankings, don’t ignore this valuable way to optimize your industrial site!
