Creative Ways to Drive New Traffic to Your Industrial Website

Filed under: Driving Traffic,General,Industrial SEO — Julie Heltunen

Are you looking for new ways to drive traffic to your website? Here is a compiled list of some of the ideas we have discussed in previous posts:

  1. Submit videos to YouTube: this will attract those visitors that respond well to video presentations. Google is also integrating YouTube videos in their Universal Search, so your videos and website can be returned in the same search results.
  2. Use Articles to Drive Traffic: write an article that is targeted to your audience, but is submitted at different article submission websites. This will ensure that your website is found in other places than just the search engines. If someone is reading an article in Ezine Articles, for example, and they find the content interesting and relevant to what they were looking for they will click-through in the article to the website to learn more. This has driven great traffic to several websites I work with.
  3. Press Release Submissions: there are several different websites out there that let you submit press releases for free or for a small fee. This is a great opportunity for Industrial Companies because it immediately lets your audience know about the latest developments within your company. Submitting press releases works the same as articles in driving traffic back to your website. A great place to submit articles is the ThomasNet Pressroom.
  4. Social Marketing: you may think this isn’t for you, but I am willing to disagree (this will have to be another post). Social marketing will help any website out there. The idea behind this is to share with other users of a social marketing site the neat things you run across a days worth of browsing. This can be press releases, a website, articles, blog posts, photos, videos. The idea is to present something interesting and again drive the traffic back to your website. It does work!
  5. Photo Galleries: having a photo gallery will also drive you traffic as well. Your photos can be placed in the Google Image search – which then sends you some more traffic. In the last month, one of my clients had 40 visits from the image search results in Google. This is more than the traffic they get from some of the search engines. This is pretty neat!

In order to get the traffic that you want, you need to be a little creative sometimes. Thinking outside the box will help you get the results that you want. Google (sometimes Yahoo & MSN) is constantly tweaking its search results; being active on other areas of the Internet will not only help your Google ranking, but also provide new ways of driving traffic to your website. Remember, you can’t always have your eggs in one basket!
