Manufacturers Seeing More Value In SEO / SEM

Filed under: General,Industrial B2B Marketing — seo clare

I recently came across a post at ThomasNet Forums soliciting participation in the the SMV 2007 industrial e-business market trends survey. The survey is focused to provide key insights to online marketing trends that impact manufacturers, helping them understand their industry and their competitors.

After reading through the 2006 study published last year, I personally would argue that the data provided would be more helpful to the marketing professionals who service these companies. Questions posed deal mostly in priorities and perceived value, not metrics and hard data.

Of course there is value in seeing how industrial businesses’ competitors are prioritizing their online marketing initiatives, though having no bearing on the value of online marketing.
What the study does purport, is that manufacturer’s are indeed putting an increased importance on e-business and search engine marketing, and that traditional marketing budgets are being compromised to make room for online marketing plans. Rightly so.
You can download the 2006 survey, published last February here.
